April 29, 2013

Well another week has come and gone. We spent a lot of time contacting and knocking doors this last week. We had a little bit of success and were able to fix a few rendezvous for this week so that was good. We had one day in particular that was really good. We had an hour before taking a bus and so we started contacting people on the street. In one hour we found three new people to teach so that was super awesome! We have already seen one of them and he is really cool his name is ***** and he was going to be a Catholic priest but found some things in the Catholic church that he did not agree with. We are hoping he will love church and gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon.

One of the big highlights of this week was a Family home evening that we had. We took **** our American investigator over to a Swedish couples house for dinner and a lesson. The member made so much food--so the dinner was great and then we had a solid lesson. **** is going to go back to the states this week so we focused on the Book of Mormon, trying to help him to make a habit of reading it so when he goes home he will keep reading it and meet with the missionaries there.

Other than that it was a pretty slow week. This week however is going to be crazy. Today we are going to St. Malo, a town in our area that is right on the coast. We are visiting a member and going to see the sites. Tomorrow are going to Paris for a few days for exchanges with the APs and then Thursday we have our district meeting. I am excited to have a busy week it should be great and hopefully we will find some new investigators.

April 22, 2013

So this week was alright. We had zone conference and interviews with President and Sister Poznanski so that was good. We got some awesome trainings from them and the training that Elder Nielson and I gave went pretty well.

This week I had an exchange that went really well. I love working with the younger missionaries--they are so full of energy and have so much unrefined faith. It's great.
We are teaching this guy named **** and he is from Nigeria. He was the number one table tennis player in Nigeria and he came up to play in the French league. We went to his match Saturday night and it was so sick. They were doing all kinds of crazy things and they are all decked out in sports clothes and what not. It was pretty awesome.

The work went pretty slow this week. All of our investigators have some kind of issues like legality issues that are keeping them from progressing much more. We are going to do a lot of finding this week so hopefully that will go well.
Today for p-day we are going site-seeing. It should be legit. Google Mont St. Michel that is where we are going.

Hey everyone,

This week was pretty good. We had what we call Week Two District Meetings and so we went to all the district meetings in our zone and gave trainings. It went well and it was fun to see everyone and meet all the new missionaries. We also had an exchange that went really we,,l so all in all it was a good week.

The best part of the week was our ami **** started the 7 day program that the church has done to help people quit smoking in 7 days. We had a really good rendez-vous and then he signed a little paper thing that is part of the program, it's a commitment to be a non-smoker. It was really good and he was excited about it. Tonight we are going to see how his "tryout" for work went. Hopefully it went great and everything is right on schedule for his baptism.

This week we have Zone conference so our week is going to be pretty busy. I also have an exchange with one of my favorite people in the mission so it should be a great week.

It has been such a crazy week. We got a phone call from our investigator ****. He told us he no longer wanted to be baptized. We told him we would be over that night to talk with him. When we got there, we found out that he has a son that he didn't know about and that he can't see him unless he has a registered address and started paying child support and what not within 4 days. He felt like it was impossible to find housing and a job in 4 days (pretty much is in France). He said that because there was no solution, he was going to move back to the south of France because it wouldn't really matter because either way he wouldn't be able to see his son. We talked with him for a while about it and then told him that if he prayed for inspiration that God would lead him and make everything possible to find an apartment. He refused to do it and had decided to run away from it all. We testified that God can do anything and told him we loved him and then left. Two days later we got a phone call from his friend who is a member. He told us that the day after we were there that **** asked him to pray with him. Afterward he left and that very same day he found a job at a restaurant and the owner told him that he could rent one of the apartments located above the restaurant. HUGE MIRACLE! **** also told the member that he really wants to be baptized now.
It was such a huge miracle and testimony builder for him and for us. We have not yet seen him but we are going to see him tonight and we are going to refix a date for his baptism. I am super excited to see him tonight and talk to him about everything.

Well that was the highlight of the week. Conference was really good and we had an ami who loved it. I think we will finally start seeing some baptisms here in Rennes. We have a lot of people who want to be but just have problems keeping them from progressing and I have a feeling things are going to start working out soon.

This week we are giving to trainings and I have an exchange so I have a feeling its going to be an exciting week.

April 1, 2013

Hey,

This week was a pretty chill week. I had two exchanges that went really well and Elder **** and I were able to teach a lot and set a baptism date this week with a guy named *****. He is 19 and is a friend of a recent convert. He is pretty cool and should be baptized here in about a month. We have just got to give him some time to make some changes in his life. I think he is definitely one of the biggest miracles in my mission. This will be a 180° for him and so pray for him, please haha.*

Last Friday we went to a Swedish couples house. They are living here and getting ready for a mission. She has asked us want we wanted and sure enough when we got there we had lasagna and cheese cake waiting for us. We had a huge meal and even had leftovers for the next day. It was awesome.

A member invited us over Sunday afternoon and we had a huge lunch and then did an Easter egg hunt with their grandkids, then shared a spiritual thought. It was a lot of fun and it felt great to celebrate Easter with a family. It was great.

Last week we were able to find a couple of new investigators who are super legit. One is 88 years old and is so, so, so French. When we went over for a rendezvous he wouldn't talk until we had our grape juice and chatted. We finally got to starting a lesson and he stopped us so he could go get a notebook. Notebook in French is Cahier and so he calls it his Le Cahier de Mormon. He makes one of us write down what the other is saying while we teach so that he can review what we say. Elder **** and I want him to get baptized so bad so that he can "go on a mission" if you know what I mean ha.

Well that was my week and life is good.
