Hey Everyone!
This last week was pretty good. We had a lot of cancelled appointments with everyone being so busy will the holidays, but we still managed to see some people and make some progress with some investigators. The coolest thing that happened was yesterday a guy showed up at church that we didn't recognize, so we started talking to him and turns out he has been inactive for years. He had a dream last week that he went to church and when he woke up he knew he needed to come back. He is a really cool guy, he will need retaught a little so It should be fun to work with him.
This week we have a lot of appointments set up. I am really excited for Christmas and a week full of lessons!

Hey everyone!
This last week was pretty good. We had transfers so Elder B*** went home and I got my new companion Elder W***. He has been out for about a year and a half and is from the Boston area.

Last week we found a couple of new investigators, so that was really exciting. Things in our area are going really well and I think that we will start seeing some baptisms soon. As of now we have two baptism dates for the end of the month so we just need them to hold out.

Yesterday we had a big conference for all of the missionaries in Paris. It was our zone conference and then after finishing the spiritual part we had a white elephant gift exchange and a big Christmas dinner. It was a lot of fun. You will have to look for a video of us all on facebook. We did a little video to thank families and friends for their love and support. It was a Christmas miracle that President let us throw our hats in the church haha!
Today we are going to see some underground tunnels in Paris. That should be cool.

December 9, 2013

Hey Everyone!

So this week was pretty good. We had a lot of appointments and had one of our amis come to church for the first time. He is making really good progress and we are hoping to fix a baptismal date with him tomorrow night.
This week we were able to teach more with the members here which went really well. Having members at the lessons is so important to help the investigators progress.
Today was Elder B's last p-day. We went up to Sacre-Coeur which is a cathedral overlooking Paris. We also got some pastries after doing a 1 week no carb diet.
So this week I will be moving to a different apartment and I will be getting a new companion. Life will be interesting that is for sure!

Hey Everyone!

This week was pretty good with Thanksgiving and all. We got together as a zone and had Thanksgiving dinner and played games. It was a fun time.
This week we had some good progress for a couple of our investigators. We have several people coming to church on a regular basis and now we just need to get some baptism dates fixed. Hopefully that happens this week!

Today to celebrate Elder B's birthday we had a deep fry. We deep fried snickers, oreos, and other candybars. It was different but super good.

Hey everyone!

So this last week was pretty good. We managed to stay pretty busy with appointments so that was good. We have three families at the moment that we are teaching  so we are really excited about that.

This last week we invited two investigators to baptism. They both accepted and now we are just waiting for them to confirm the dates with us. We will have a lot of work over the next few weeks preparing these people for baptism.

This week we will have a zone activity for Thanksgiving. We are going to have a Thanksgiving dinner together and play games. That should be fun.

Hey everyone!

So this last week was a pretty good week. We were really busy with appointments and with mission meetings. We had the Sunday school general president and the 2 counselors in the general young men's presidency come and talk to all of the missionaries in the Paris area. It was very cool to hear from them.

Last Friday we were walking on our way to an appointment and had a lady stop us in the road. She asked us if we were the Mormons and if we could give her one of our books. We went by her home the next day and taught her and her family. She and her husband have three kids. It was a cool experience for us to find a family to teach.

Hey Everyone!

So this last week was pretty good. Things are picking up for us here in Aulnay. We keep finding out that there are more and more partial member families in our small branch and they all want us to come visit them. Which we are very happy to do! We also have found a bunch of less active members to work with so things are going well.

One of the coolest parts of our week was last Saturday. We only had about 15 minutes before we needed to take a train to head back into Paris. We decided to contacted for the little time that remained. We talked to 4 people and got two phone numbers. It was a pretty cool little miracle.
So this week we have exchanges, interviews with the mission president, and a bunch of appointments. We are going to be busy!

November 4, 2013

Hey Everyone!

So life in the ghetto is pretty awesome. We got here late afternoon on Wednesday and found out we are living an hour away from our area until they can find us an apartment. That should be in about three weeks, so for the meanwhile we take the trains in after studies and leave around 8ish to get home by 9. We have been eating meals at the church to avoid using our entire day traveling. We are currently living in Paris with 4 other Elders. Life is pretty interesting with six missionaries in one apartment but so far so good.

So far the missionary work is going good. We have 4 investigators so far and both of them are super legit. We should be getting another 2 this week from another companionship and so far finding is going really well, we have about 5 potential investigators.

The branch here is really small but everyone was super welcoming yesterday. It has been 4 years since missionaries were last here and so they are really excited.

Hey everyone!
So this week I am going to be a little short because I have a really busy day today!
So Today we found out that I am being transferred to Aulnay. It is a small branch on the east side of Paris. I am looking forward to this new adventure.
This last week was a great week. I had an exchange with the missionaries in Caen and we had some really great lessons with some recent converts. We also had a couple of investigators in Cherbourg make some progress this week and the recent converts here are doing great. I will be sad to leave them.
Well I better get started packing!

Hey everyone!

So this week was pretty good. It went by super fast. We spent Monday night in Paris and did legality stuff on Tuesday for Elder W***. I got to go with another one of the trainers on a scavenger hunt for the day. Elder G*** promised us all a chicken sandwich if we licked the Eiffel Tower so sure enough we did it! Another one of the activities was to contact everyone we saw with kids. It was a fun day.

Tuesday night we slept in Caen so that we could have district meeting on  Wednesday.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were full of Rendez-vous and passbacks. We had a pretty good week teaching wise which was nice. Saturday we went down to Rennes for Stake Conference. I took advantage of the fact that we were in Rennes to go see some friends there.  Sunday was stake conference which was really good.
So yeah the week went by really fast.

October 14, 2013

Hey everyone!
So this week went by super fast! We had exchanges with the zone leaders on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was awesome. I went with Elder Christensen and it was so much fun.
This last week we also went and visited some members and had dinner with them. It was nice to go spend time with some members and encourage them to do missionary work instead of knocking doors and contacting. This week we will see a few more members so that will be good and hopefully we will start getting some referrals from it.
We found a really cool new ami this week while contacting. He is a young French guy and is kind of a hippie. He is fun to teach so that was great.
This week we are going to Paris so that Elder Wilson can do his French legality. We also have district meeting in Caen so we are leaving Cherboug this afternoon and are getting back Wednesday afternoon. Then we are leaving Saturday to go to Rennes for Stake Conference. Needless to say, this week is going to go by fast!

October 7, 2013

Hey Everyone!

Well this week was pretty good. We spent a few days in Caen on exchanges with the Zone Leaders and then on Wednesday we went to Paris for our zone conference. Between zone conference and general conference I received a lot of instruction. It was great!

So this week we had a couple of cool experiences while teaching. We have a couple of recent converts here who we continue to teach and integrate. They are progressing so quickly and it is amazing to see how strong their faith is after only a few months being a member.

Conference was super good! I really enjoyed all of the talks about missionary work. All of the members after conference were really excited to work with us and so hopefully we see some miracles with working with them.

This week we have more exchanges with the zone leaders so that will be fun. We also have a couple of family home evenings with amis and members so that should be awesome.

September 30, 2013

Hey everyone!
This week went by super fast and we had some cool stuff happen.

On Wednesday we were on our way to go to Rouen for a zone meeting and we got a phone call from a guy named named A****. He is from Sierra Lyon and has only been in France for a few months. He met one of the members from Caen and started talking to him a little about the Church. He was really interested so he got the number from the member and gave us a call. We taught him last Thursday and it was a great lesson. He is a really cool guy and really wants to know the truth. It was a pretty sweet miracle for us.

Today while doing our studies we got a phone call from a less active member that we hadn't heard from for about 5 weeks. He asked us about the Family home evening that we have at the church every Monday night. He is going to come tonight so I am excited about that.
Other than that it was a pretty normal week. This week we are going to Paris for zone conference and we have exchanged with the zone leaders so that should be fun.

September 23, 2013

Hey everyone!

So this week was pretty interesting. Elder M**** who was in Caen came and joined us for a few days because his companion had to go to Paris for transfers a few days early. It made things kinda fun for us being a team of three for a few days.
Wednesday we all went down to Paris for transfers. I picked up my new companion, Elder W***, who is from Grantsville. He is 18 years old and is super excited to be here. We attended a few training meetings and then came back to Cherbourg.

We spent most of this week doing finding and planning for the transfer. We were able to find a bunch of potential investigators that we are going to see this week so hopefully that will go well. We currently have 5 potential families so pray for us that we can start teaching all of them!
We started the study program for trainer and new missionaries so that has been good. We spend an extra hour per day in studies but I have seen how important it is to do a lot of practice teaching with the new missionaries. So far I have been enjoying it.

Well that is it for this week!

September 16, 2013

Hey everyone!

This week was pretty awesome. We spent a lot of time on trains going to district meeting and Rennes to pick up my visa but we had some pretty cool miracles while traveling.

Two weeks ago while coming home from district meeting me met a young guy named Paul on the train and taught him a little about the gospel. This last week while coming home we saw him at the train station again and went and talked to him. We ended up teaching him again and it was really awesome.

The day after that we went to Rennes to pick up my visa and on the way home we met a young Irish man going to Cherbourg to catch a ferry back to Ireland. We started talking to him and sure enough one thing led to another and we taught him the restoration. It was really cool that even though we were stuck on trains the Lord put people who were ready to hear the gospel in our path.

Yesterday we went to Paris with the members of the branch to go to a multi-stake conference. Elder Oaks and Elder Boutoile a member of the seventy can and reorganized the stakes in France. They created another Stake and spoke to the members about strengthening their families and preparing for the temple. The said that the temple is finally starting to come along and that we need to prepare for it. It was a really powerful meeting and everyone felt the Spirit strongly.

Well that's it for this week.

September 9, 2013

Hey Everyone,
This last week went by super fast! We spent three days outside of our area for exchanges with our district leader and legality stuff. It didn't leave us with a ton of time in our area but we were able to have a good week still. We have a couple of amis that are starting to make a little progress which is really good and a few new potentials that we need to follow up on so hopefully everything will keep picking up.

Last week when we went to Rennes for my legality we were able to see a family that Elder Nielson and I did service for. They had us over for lunch and it was really great to see them.

Last night we had a really cool experience while porting. We found a really nice area that we starting doing and every half hour or so we stopped and prayed to know which direction we needed to go. At the very end of the night we prayed for the last time and we felt that we needed to change directions and go to a specific road. We ended up meeting a young father who told gave us his phone number and told us to call this coming week.
It was a cool experience and I am looking forward to teaching him and his family.

This week will be pretty crazy too! We have to go back to Rennes to finish up the last part of my legality and Sunday we are going to Paris for a big conference with Elder Oaks. Should be fun stuff.

Hey everyone!

So this last week was a pretty good week. We did a lot of knocking doors and it went super well. We were able to teach 3 lessons just by knocking doors and found a couple of new amis so things are looking pretty good at the moment.

Last Saturday we felt like we needed to go do a passback that was a little far away. We decided to go and to choose a road to port that was nearby. We prayed about the a few roads and finally chose one. We went out there and did the passback that ended up being a waste of time and then started porting. It seemed like nobody was home but we felt like it was still the right place so we kept going. Eventually we ported into a really nice French couple that we ended up teaching. The lessons went well and they told us to come back. It was a cool experience.

So last Tuesday on the way home from District meeting the senior couple took us on a detour and we stopped at Omaha Beach. We had shortened our preparation day that week so we got to spend about 2 hours visiting the memorial. It was a crazy awesome experience that I will never forget.

So that is that, I hope you all have a great week!

August 26, 2013

Hey everyone,
So this last week was interesting. It was definitely full of ups and downs. Last Wednesday we had a super awesome lesson with a couple we were teaching. The Spirit was super strong and we invited them to baptism. The wife accepted and the husband said he would like more time to think about it. Saturday we went back and the husband had convinced the wife to drop her baptism date and stop meeting with us. It was a huge bummer. On the upside we have a different investigator that is making some decent progress so hopefully she will accept a date pretty soon.
Other than that we did a lot of finding this week. We found some decent potentials and so hopefully they will become new amis this week.

A thank you to our wonderful friend...

The Lerdahl family has been blessed to be friends with an amazing man, Bill Green, who was able to visit Dane in France! Bill first became known to our family when McKenzie (Dane's oldest sister) started high school at Granstville High School. Bill was the French teacher and worked with the Esteem Team, a group of students who promote positive, anti-drug and anti-tobacco lifestyles. When Morgan (Dane's other sister) began GHS, she also became a student of Mr. Green. Dane followed in their footsteps!

Bill is a cherished friend who will forever be a part of our lives. Although he no longer teaches at GHS, he is a legacy there and will always be remembered. We are so grateful that Bill had the opportunity to got to France with friends and visit Dane. This is a letter Bill wrote to us about his visit. We love you Bill!

Dear friends,

I spent 3 hours yesterday with Elder Dane and his companion, Elder J***.  It was a wonderful 3 hours and l enjoyed seeing them and just hanging out with them.  We met at the Pompidiou Center, my friends had gone inside to see the modern art museum and I waited out side to meet the Elders.  Et voila, they showed up on the appointed time.  Elder Dane looked great, no need to worry about his self-cut hair, it looked professionally cut. He is no longer a boy, he looks like a man.  Elder J*** is a red head, and they seem to get along very well.  We found a nice sidewalk cafe, had a tasty lunch and tried to catch up on GHS news and their missionary work.  They seem very comparable and love what they're doing.  Be proud of your missionary, he is a fine young man, deeply engaged in the Lord's work.  I felt very proud of him and honored to be able to visit with him in a place we both love, France.  I'll always cherish this memory.  As he opened his package from home, he kept saying " I told her, I only need the pants", but the expression on his face told me he was grateful for all the fantastic treats he found along with the pants.  Towards the end of the visit, the glances at the wrist watches told me, that they were concerned about getting back to Antony in time for missionary work. I was pleased to see the dedication and concern.

Thanks so very much for letting me feel a small part of you family.  What a great mother and father, great home filled with love and the gospel of Jesus Christ, the the wonderful children (and mate)
I wish that you all could have been there (you were in spirit).

XOXO Bill Green

Hey Everyone!

This last week was a pretty good week. We had a good amount of lessons and we were able to do a lot of porting. We found a lot of potential investigators and over the next few weeks we will be passing by them. Hopefully they will all become new investigators. Sunday we had two amis come to church which was awesome and then right after we went and visited a less active family with the missionary couple here. We did a fun activity with the kids and it was a great lesson. After on the way home we got to stop by a WWII cemetery. It was a cemetery for the German soldiers and contained the remains of more than 10,000 men with about 6 per grave. It was pretty crazy.
Yesterday we went to a city called Rouen for interviews with the mission president and zone conference. It was nice not to be stressing about giving a training haha. It was great and we saw the place where Joan of Arc was burned. Only in the France Paris mission could you contact someone then look to the right and see a historical place. Cool Stuff eh!

This week we have a lot of lessons planned so hopefully they all go through and we can set up some baptism dates!

August 12, 2013

Hey Everyone!
So this week was pretty crazy with transfers and all, but it was a really great week.
So last monday Elder J**** and I spent the afternoon with Bill Green. We had a really fun time chatting about missionary work and France. Bill treated us to lunch at a nice little restaurant in the middle of Paris. It was a fun time.

We spent most of Tuesday in rendez-vous. It is so easy to get appointments on transfer weeks because people get a lot less busy when you tell them you are leaving in two days haha.

Wednesday I went in to the church in Paris and met up with my new comp. His name is Elder B***. He is from Utah and has been on his mission for about 5 months or so. He is a great missionary and we have been having a lot of fun together.

As soon as we got in to Cherbourg we hit the ground running. The senior couple here picked us up at the train station and took us to our first appointment. The appointment went really well. It was with a part-member family and the two daughters were scheduled to get baptized this last weekend. We went over their baptism program and they asked me to confirm them. It was kind of awkward for me cause I had just met them so I suggested somebody else do it but they had made up their mind so yesterday I ended up confirming them.Cool way to start things off in a new area.

Cherbourg is a pretty cool little city and so far I am really liking it and am looking forward to the transfer.

Hey Everyone!

This week was super awesome. We had so many amazing miracles.
This week we found a huge complex of apartment buildings that is perfect for knocking doors, but unfortunately all the buildings are locked and you have to have a code to get in. We really felt like we needed to do some porting there though, so we have been going there every night in hopes of getting in and every night there is a different door left open. We always go in and start knocking doors and sure enough we always find someone new to teach. Last Friday we got in one of the building and went to the top floor. We had about 40 minutes left of the night before we had to go home. We said a prayer asking Heavenly Father to help us find a family and then we started. The first door nobody answered, the second door a lady answered and let us in. We taught her and her family and shared with them the Family: A Proclamation to the World. The family had recently been having family problems and the mother had been praying for help. I have no doubt that we were guided to them as a response to this lady's humble prayers. After our lesson with them we only had about 10 minutes before we had to go home. We decided to just finish the apartments on that floor. We knocked the next door and a lady let us in and we taught her and her family too. It was such an amazing experience. We knocked a total of 3 doors and found two wonderful families to teach. I think on average in our mission we get let in about twice a transfer. This week people have let us in 5 times. I feel like I little like I am in South America.

The other cool miracle we had is that we finally got one of our investigators to come to church. We have been working with him for about 6 weeks and it has been really slow progress. He is from Algeria and is from a Muslim background. He has really enjoyed the missionary lessons and since we started teaching him he has made prayer and reading the scriptures a daily habit. He just didn't want to come to church. We went and had a really good rendez-vous on Friday and instead of inviting him to come to church we told him we would pass that morning to get him ha ha. He finally agreed to meet us at the bus stop by his house. We went there and sure enough he was there all dressed up in a suit and tie for church. It was great. He seemed to really enjoy church and he even participated a lot in asking questions and making comments.
Well that is pretty much it for this week. Oh except for the fact that I just got transferred. I am going to Cherbourg a city in the North West of France. Should be fun.

Hey everyone!
So this week was pretty good. It has been super hot and humid but all in all life is good. Last week we did a lot of finding and it was so tiring, at one point I was thinking of excuses to waste some time haha and instead I said a quick prayer and we kept going and sure enough we met this really awesome guy. After talking for a few minutes we went and sat down on a park bench and taught him the first lesson. He was Catholic but was searching for more. The restorations was perfect for him and we are going to see him again this week. I am looking forward to teaching him.
Other than that it was a pretty normal week. We are still working with the partial member family and an ami that is Muslim. It's been slow progress with both of them but its been fun to teach them and see them slowly start accepting the gospel.
This week I have an exchange and we have a leadership meeting so that should keep the week interesting.

July 15, 2013

Hey everyone!
So this week was pretty good. We went and visited a less active that we ran into a few weeks ago on the street. We talked to him about building our families on Christ and it went really well. Saturday we went back with a member and we got to teach the whole family. His wife is not a member but was very interested by the Book of Mormon. We taught them and invited them all to come to church the next day. They all showed up and it was great. It's amazing how the Lord works on people and puts them in our paths when they are ready to hear the gospel.  It was an awesome miracle.
We also had a great meeting with the ward council. Everyone committed to invite one of their friends to their house for and FHE with us. Hopefully they actually do it;

Other than that we spent most the week finding. Our mission is focusing on finding and teaching families so give us some shoutouts in your prayers so we can find 'em and baptize 'em.
Today we are going up the Eiffel Tower so that should be pretty fun stuff.

July 8, 2013

Hey Everyone!
This week was a pretty good week. We spent a lot of time knocking doors so that felt a little long at times but we had some good success. We found a bunch of new investigators that we passed over to the sister missionaries and so this week we are hoping to find families and men haha. Last Thursday we were knocking doors and we were just about ready to go home but we decided to do one more floor of the apartment building. Sure enough the last door someone let us in and we taught them, It is always the last door. Maybe just once the Lord could make it the first one--haha.
Yesterday church was really good. The bishop here is very committed to missionary work and has been doing a lot to get the ward pumped for it. I have a good feeling that the work is going to explode here.

So the other day I decided that before coming home I want to get a Koran, a Jehovah's Witness bible, and a Tora. So we set the goal and last night we were porting and met a TJ. I jumped on the chance, asked her a few questions and she gave me a Jehovah's witness bible. Now I just have two more to go. The Koran should be easy, there are so many Muslims here, the Tora will most definitely take some work.
Well that's just about it for this week and I want to go stroll the streets of Paris.
Have a great week!

Hey Everyone!

Well this week was my first week in my new ville. Antony is a suburb of Paris about 25 minutes away by train. The best way to describe it is that it's like Africa and the Middle East mixed together, I love it! The people here are so nice and they are super open, I have had so much fun talking to people on the streets and our amis are all super cool. We are teaching this one guy from Algeria who is so legit. Everytime we go over we see a ton of progress with him. We also have a couple of families that we teach that are all super nice.

The ward is pretty big and our bishop is intense. Sunday we had three talks on missionary work and everybody was pumped. Tonight we are going to do an FHE with the young men and this week we are going to visit some members and challenge them to do missionary work. It should be great!
My new companion is Elder J.****. He is from Lethbridge, Canada. He is very relaxed and we are getting along very well. We are working hard and have not stopped laughing so life is good.
Well today we are going to go check out Paris for our p-day. It feels so cool to say that.
Hope you all have a great week!

Hey everyone!

This week was a pretty good week. We had a couple of  family home evenings with part-member families and that was great. In both lessons we taught about how God is our loving Heavenly Father and how he gave us families to help us return to live with him. The Spirit was really strong during the lessons and it was great. Both families came to a church activity on Friday and one of the families came to church on Sunday.

Friday the ward did a big activity at the church. It was a concert in which all the members participated in. It was a great opportunity for people to invite their friends and there were a decent amount of people that showed up.

Tonight we have another family night. A member family is suppose to be inviting their friends over so hopefully they come and we will be able to start teaching them.

Well I just got the transfer email. I am going to Antony, which is in the south of Paris. I am pretty excited except for having to pack.

June 17

Hey everyone this week was so awesome.

We found four new investigators and we had some crazy cool experiences. Last Monday while doing our shopping a man came up to us and starting asking about the church. We got his number and fixed a time to go teach him. He then gave us two of his friends' phone numbers. It was such a cool miracle. Later on we called his friends numbers and one of them was not interested at all but then after hanging his other friend calls us and said he was interested and asked us to come visit him. It was so cool to have met one guy and then through friends and referals meeting a bunch of other people.

We also had a few other miracles where we were guided to people. We have been trying really hard to pray and choose specific streets to go knock doors. Since doing that we have been so much more successful and this week we even found a family that we are now teaching.

This week we also had our zone conferences. It was great to see all the other missionaries and to have gotten to hear from our mission president. Our mission has a new goal to have 100 baptisms in the next two months because Elder Oaks will be coming in two months. Every one is super excited and after just one week we have 20 additional baptism dates. We are working super hard to reach this goal so pray for us!

This last week was a week full of miracles. Hopefully that continues this week.

The other day we were contacting people in the street and we met this guy and asked him if he had fifteen minutes to discuss with us, he said no he was on his way to an appointment and so then we asked if he would have time the following week to meet with us. He thought about it and then asked if we could just meet that afternoon. It was cool to meet someone really interested and to have taught him that same day.

Other than that miracle this week was a very normal week except that yesterday a member invited us to go to his house after church for lunch. It was a BBQ! So yeah yesterday was a great day haha!

This week we have Zone conference so that should be fun. Hope you all have a great week.

This week was a great week! We had so many miracles and we definitely were blessed with the Spirit as our guide.

In our mission we have been going to members houses and blessing their homes to be places of attractions where those that search for God and Truth can feel the spirit. A few weeks ago we blessed a members home and Tuesday night we went back to eat with them and help them in their missionary work.

We got there and had fajitas so I was happy and then on top of it they told us all about how their neighbor came over and started talking to them the church and how he would like to go to church with them. I just about choked on the oh so good fajita (side note: I miss Mexican food so bad!) Anyways it was a super cool night and we fixed a time for us to have a family home evening with them and their neighbors. What's even cooler is that yesterday the neighbor came to church!

So the other day we were out contacting and we were having no luck at all. We stopped and prayed and I felt like we needed to go to a different part of town where we have never done contacting before. We went and the first person we talked to was interested. We met with him two days later and it was a great rendezvous.

The spirit is so awesome!

Okay last miracle for this week was last night we were porting and we saw two guys sitting on a curb on the opposite side of the street. We kept porting and then after we went past them they came up and started talking to us. They were betting on whether we were Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses and wanted to prove each other wrong haha. Anyways, we started talking to them and then we ended up sitting down with them on the curb and teaching them. It was a super good rendezvous and we are going to see them again this week.

Hey everyone!

We had a pretty busy week. We had to go visit all of the districts in the zone and do trainings on the new mission project so that took up a lot of our week.
Monday night we had a pretty cool little miracle. We are doing this thing called the Montana Way. When we knock doors we ask people if we can pray with them and leave a blessing on their home and family. We have been doing it for 10 months and I had never seen it work until Monday. We got to pray with a family from Senagal and it was pretty cool. Unfortunately they were not super interested in meeting with us again but hey it was still a fun experience.

Tuesday we went to Lorient for a district meeting. We have a new way of inviting investigators to church so we did a big training on that and that was cool. Its always fun to go to all the district meetings and try and help all the missionaries. Wednesday we had our districts meeting so we did the training again and it went really well.

After our district meeting I went on an exchange with Elder F who was in my mtc district and is now my district leader. It was fun to see how much we have changed in the last year. We had a good time on our exchange.

Friday we went to the P's house and did some service for them and then ate with them. They told us at the end that it really helps them when we come not just for the work but for their moral and what not. I can't wait for them to realize that the reason they feel different is the Spirit. I see them slowly opening up to the gospel. We are going to set up a family home evening with them and a member friend of theirs so hopefully that leads to something.

That afternoon we got a phone call from a member asking us to go to her house to give a blessing to another less active member. We went and it was a great experience. We were able to help this lady by giving her a blessing of comfort and testifying that Heavenly Father loves her. We are going to set up a family home evening with her and the member and I am sure that will help this sister start coming back to church.

This week is going to be great. We have a FHE set up for tonight with one of my favorite families in the ward and Pres Poznanski is coming to Rennes Wednesday for our district meeting so that could be really good thing. In any case it will be a good opportunity to speak with him and learn from him.

Well I hope you all have a great week!

May 20, 2013

Well this week was pretty insane. We found out Monday that Elder N*** would be leaving to go to Arras and that I would be staying in Rennes with a new comp. We made all of the travel arrangements for everyone and then Tuesday we got thrown a curve-ball. We went over to this non-member family's house that we do service at for dinner and as we were leaving I got a phone call from my assigned companion. He is one of the Chinese speaking missionaries in Paris and had just found out that due to visa problems for a new missionary that he would have to stay in Paris. I then was informed by the mission President to hang out with other missionaries in my district until I heard back from him. I spent a couple days with them and then got a phone call telling me who my new comp would be and what not. I am now with Elder R****. He is from Canada and was raised speaking French and English. He came into the mission field the same day and so we know each other well and have are having a blast together.

Friday we went to Paris for a leadership conference and after rushed back to Rennes for a big ward activity. A member of the ward plays in a Beatles tribute band and they did a big concert for the ward. A bunch of the members brought friends and we had a few investigators show up so it was great.

Other than that we have just been doing lots of finding trying to get some new amis. This week we have a couple trainings to do and I will have an exchange with Elder F*** from my MTC group so that should be fun.

Hey Everyone,

This week was pretty good, we spent a lot of time visiting members challenging them to do missionary work. It was great for us to get to know the ward a little bit better and I definitely can't complain when we get fed so that was great. We had a couple really cool miracles happen this week. We have been trying to find new investigators and Saturday while we were contacting we met a guy who had been taught by the missionaries about a year ago. He invited is over to his house that same day and we had a lesson. He is a pretty cool guy and we are really hoping that things will go well with him. Another one of our amis accepted a baptism invite so we will be working hard with him getting him ready for baptism. Things in our area are still going pretty slow but good things are happening so we are happy. I just found out that my comp Elder N**** is leaving Wednesday and I will be getting a new comp. His name is Elder C**** and he is from Canada. He already spoke French and English and has learned Chinese on his mission. I am excited to serve with him, it should be a lot of fun.

It was great to talk to you all yesterday on Skype, it was great to see you all.

Until next week.

April 29, 2013

Well another week has come and gone. We spent a lot of time contacting and knocking doors this last week. We had a little bit of success and were able to fix a few rendezvous for this week so that was good. We had one day in particular that was really good. We had an hour before taking a bus and so we started contacting people on the street. In one hour we found three new people to teach so that was super awesome! We have already seen one of them and he is really cool his name is ***** and he was going to be a Catholic priest but found some things in the Catholic church that he did not agree with. We are hoping he will love church and gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon.

One of the big highlights of this week was a Family home evening that we had. We took **** our American investigator over to a Swedish couples house for dinner and a lesson. The member made so much food--so the dinner was great and then we had a solid lesson. **** is going to go back to the states this week so we focused on the Book of Mormon, trying to help him to make a habit of reading it so when he goes home he will keep reading it and meet with the missionaries there.

Other than that it was a pretty slow week. This week however is going to be crazy. Today we are going to St. Malo, a town in our area that is right on the coast. We are visiting a member and going to see the sites. Tomorrow are going to Paris for a few days for exchanges with the APs and then Thursday we have our district meeting. I am excited to have a busy week it should be great and hopefully we will find some new investigators.

April 22, 2013

So this week was alright. We had zone conference and interviews with President and Sister Poznanski so that was good. We got some awesome trainings from them and the training that Elder Nielson and I gave went pretty well.

This week I had an exchange that went really well. I love working with the younger missionaries--they are so full of energy and have so much unrefined faith. It's great.
We are teaching this guy named **** and he is from Nigeria. He was the number one table tennis player in Nigeria and he came up to play in the French league. We went to his match Saturday night and it was so sick. They were doing all kinds of crazy things and they are all decked out in sports clothes and what not. It was pretty awesome.

The work went pretty slow this week. All of our investigators have some kind of issues like legality issues that are keeping them from progressing much more. We are going to do a lot of finding this week so hopefully that will go well.
Today for p-day we are going site-seeing. It should be legit. Google Mont St. Michel that is where we are going.

April 17, 2013

Hey everyone,

This week was pretty good. We had what we call Week Two District Meetings and so we went to all the district meetings in our zone and gave trainings. It went well and it was fun to see everyone and meet all the new missionaries. We also had an exchange that went really we,,l so all in all it was a good week.

The best part of the week was our ami **** started the 7 day program that the church has done to help people quit smoking in 7 days. We had a really good rendez-vous and then he signed a little paper thing that is part of the program, it's a commitment to be a non-smoker. It was really good and he was excited about it. Tonight we are going to see how his "tryout" for work went. Hopefully it went great and everything is right on schedule for his baptism.

This week we have Zone conference so our week is going to be pretty busy. I also have an exchange with one of my favorite people in the mission so it should be a great week.

April 8, 2013

It has been such a crazy week. We got a phone call from our investigator ****. He told us he no longer wanted to be baptized. We told him we would be over that night to talk with him. When we got there, we found out that he has a son that he didn't know about and that he can't see him unless he has a registered address and started paying child support and what not within 4 days. He felt like it was impossible to find housing and a job in 4 days (pretty much is in France). He said that because there was no solution, he was going to move back to the south of France because it wouldn't really matter because either way he wouldn't be able to see his son. We talked with him for a while about it and then told him that if he prayed for inspiration that God would lead him and make everything possible to find an apartment. He refused to do it and had decided to run away from it all. We testified that God can do anything and told him we loved him and then left. Two days later we got a phone call from his friend who is a member. He told us that the day after we were there that **** asked him to pray with him. Afterward he left and that very same day he found a job at a restaurant and the owner told him that he could rent one of the apartments located above the restaurant. HUGE MIRACLE! **** also told the member that he really wants to be baptized now.
It was such a huge miracle and testimony builder for him and for us. We have not yet seen him but we are going to see him tonight and we are going to refix a date for his baptism. I am super excited to see him tonight and talk to him about everything.

Well that was the highlight of the week. Conference was really good and we had an ami who loved it. I think we will finally start seeing some baptisms here in Rennes. We have a lot of people who want to be but just have problems keeping them from progressing and I have a feeling things are going to start working out soon.

This week we are giving to trainings and I have an exchange so I have a feeling its going to be an exciting week.

April 1, 2013

Hey,

This week was a pretty chill week. I had two exchanges that went really well and Elder **** and I were able to teach a lot and set a baptism date this week with a guy named *****. He is 19 and is a friend of a recent convert. He is pretty cool and should be baptized here in about a month. We have just got to give him some time to make some changes in his life. I think he is definitely one of the biggest miracles in my mission. This will be a 180° for him and so pray for him, please haha.*

Last Friday we went to a Swedish couples house. They are living here and getting ready for a mission. She has asked us want we wanted and sure enough when we got there we had lasagna and cheese cake waiting for us. We had a huge meal and even had leftovers for the next day. It was awesome.

A member invited us over Sunday afternoon and we had a huge lunch and then did an Easter egg hunt with their grandkids, then shared a spiritual thought. It was a lot of fun and it felt great to celebrate Easter with a family. It was great.

Last week we were able to find a couple of new investigators who are super legit. One is 88 years old and is so, so, so French. When we went over for a rendezvous he wouldn't talk until we had our grape juice and chatted. We finally got to starting a lesson and he stopped us so he could go get a notebook. Notebook in French is Cahier and so he calls it his Le Cahier de Mormon. He makes one of us write down what the other is saying while we teach so that he can review what we say. Elder **** and I want him to get baptized so bad so that he can "go on a mission" if you know what I mean ha.

Well that was my week and life is good.

March 25, 2013

This week was so awesome! We got to do a lot of cool things this week.

So we got a phone call from the mission president telling us he had a special task for us. I was a little worried at first but it ended up being so much fun. We were told to go to the airport Friday night to pick up Elder Donaldson, a member of the 70. When we went and got him it was so cool. He walked into the terminal and just gave us the biggest smile and a huge wave. We got his bags and when out to the car. On the way he was talking to us, getting to know us and about halfway to his hotel he said "Well boys, is there a McDonalds anywhere in this town" A general authority took us to McDonalds and bought us dinner!! It was legit. Then we went to his hotel and hung out with him in the lobby while we ate. He was giving us all kinds of tips and teaching us all kinds of cool stuff. After we all got done eating we all realized it was 10:30 and normally we should have been in bed already haha! We then left but it was so cool to hang out with a member of the 70.

On Sunday we got to go to a stake conference where Elder Donaldson spoke and it was so good. Right before he spoke he called me and another missionary up out of the blue for us to share our testimonies. We walked up there and he told us what he wanted us to testify about and then said "Well guys, bring in the Spirit" It was a cool experience.

We have a couple of investigators who are progressing really well. We are hoping to fix a couple of dates this week. Tonight we have a couple of family home evenings planned out that we are going to and I have two exchanges this week so its going to fly by.

March 18, 2013

Hey,

So this week was pretty good. We taught a lot and some good things are happening. We have a companionship that has been struggling so we went down to their area to work with them and do exchanges. It was a good experience, we broke up and went with the goal of finding their weak points and helping them to overcome them. We had really good exchanges and were able to find a lot of potential investigators. Hopefully they will be able to start teaching more and have some success.

We also went down to Paris for a meeting with Elder Richards who is a member of the Seventy. It was a good meeting, he talked to us about the difference between baptizing and building the Kingdom of God. It was super powerful and Elder Nielson and I are excited to share his message with all of the missionaries in our zone.

This week we are going back to Paris for a zone conference with him and so that will be good. It really is awesome how many opportunities we have as missionaries to meet with the church leaders.
Last Saturday we were in a rendez-vous and we invited our ami to come to church the next day. He told us that he had lost his car keys and had no way to get to church. He had searched for the key for a few hours before giving up. We asked if we could pray and then help him look for it. He offered a super powerful prayer and then we looked and about 5 minutes later found it. I realized that for most of us that is something very little because we have been doing that all of our lives, but for him it was a huge testimony builder. It was cool.

Well this week we have a busy week planned so hopefully everything happens. Hope you all are doing great.

March 11, 2013

Hey everyone!

This week was a pretty tiring week. I had two exchanges to do and I traveled for both of them. I spent two days in a city named St. Brieuc and another two days in a city named St. Nazaire.  They were fun exchanges though so that was good.

My exchange in St. Brieuc was awesome. I went there with a Bleu or "Greenie" who has only been out for 2 weeks. He did such a great job. He did all the phone calls, taught a good part of the lessons and did a great job contacting and porting. It amazes me how prepared these new missionaries are coming after 6 short weeks at the MTC. It's incredible and it made me excited for the idea of training.

Another great part of my exchanges was that I got to see the ocean when I went to St. Nazaire. I don't know why that was so cool but it was legit.

Other than that we had a pretty slow week. Our amis are all very legit but they all have a really hard time coming to church so we need to work on that. We also have not had much time to find so we made goals to be more effective with our time, which is really just going to be prioritizing everything that needs to be done. I am really excited for this coming week though, hopefully we will have more time to actually proselyte.

Well, I hope you are all doing great. Have a great week and eat some Taco Bell for me, Il me manque.

March 4, 2013

Hey everyone!

Well this last week was one of the most tiring weeks of my life but it also was a lot of fun. We spent all week doing what is called Week two district meetings. The zone leaders attend each district meeting and give a training and a mission project.

We have three districts in our zone so we gave three trainings. We had one in Rennes, one in Nantes, and one in Lorient so we traveled a ton. We also had an exchange so it was a crazy busy week. The trainings went well. Our mission is doing this purification fast where you fast for a day and make a list of 10 things that drive out the spirit. You then fast for 40 days from the things on your list. It will be super hard but I am excited for it. We are also making it a goal to have a Family home evening each week at a member's house with an investigator. It will be awesome and that will really help our investigators' progress. I am really excited for it.

Last week we had a couple miracles but the one that shocked me the most was we got a phone call from a guy that found a pass along card two years ago in Paris. It has a picture of Jesus Christ on it so he kept it and called it last week. Turns out it was our phone number and he lives in Rennes. We should be seeing him this week so that will be cool.

This week I have two exchanges which I am really excited for. One is with a new missionary so I will experience what Matt is going through for about one day so that should be fun and it should be a good week.

Hey everyone!

This last week has gone by so fast. Last Monday and Tuesday we spent trying to see everyone before I left. On Tuesday we went and saw G. who I have been working with since I got to Lux. We had such a powerful lesson. He was telling us about how he doesn't feel like he has a vision of what God wants for him. Before I really knew what I was saying I promised that if he lived all of the commandments for one week and then prayed and fasted on the last day that he would receive his answer. It sounds like a pretty simple promise but under his circumstances and what not it was pretty huge. It was a great experience for me because that is something I would have never done if I had not felt the spirit so strongly.

Wednesday I spent all day traveling. It was cool though because I got to pass by the church in Paris where are all the missionaries go so that was awesome. I got to see a lot of cool people.

Thursday we went from Rennes, back to Paris and then back again for mission council. It was awesome! I love going to all meetings and seeing the back-end of the mission.

Friday and Saturday we spent most of the days planning and running from appointment to appointment. there is so much planning as a zone leader, its not really hard...but you are busy all the time!

We have found a couple new amis this week so that was great and yesterday we were all sitting in Sunday school and this guy that the sister missionaries gave a card to showed up. We were all super stoked and now we are going to go teach him on Tuesday.

So all in all it has been a great week.

Today we had a conference call with all the mission leaders and we have 4 appointments today so our pday got shortened but I am super happy about it because we have appointments and that is the whole reason we are here. W are here to teach these people and help them towards baptism and then the temple.

Hope you all are doing well!

February 18, 2013

Last week was pretty insane! We had a special day in the mission. Our mission and the mission of Lyon spent a day contacting and knocking doors. We were instructed to pray every half hour and to pray for not only ourselves but for both missions. We had some really cool miracles happen but the biggest was that we went out to a neighborhood that was really far away (we had no idea why we were going just felt like we needed to). We got there and started knocking doors. We were let in and got to teach a guy then kept going. The last ten minutes that we had before having to go catch our bus we ported into a young family. We talked to them about what we do and how our message is a blessing to the family. They invited us back over so we went and they are so ready for the gospel. It was definitely a miracle for us to find this young family.

I am sad to leave Luxembourg but I am pretty excited to go to Rennes. It is a cool city and my new comp is really cool.

Well I got to go we are gonna go play some soccer with a member.

February 11, 2013

Hey everyone!

This week went by so fast. This transfer is only 5 weeks so that the mission will be on the same schedule as the MTC so time is flying by.

This week we did a lot of finding and we actually had some decent success. They say that 1 our of every 1000 doors that you knock will actually let you in. This week we actually got let in twice so that was a miracle. These Hindu guys let us in and we started talking with them and they told us they have 23 million gods. It was a pretty crazy chat with them. It makes me happy that our religion makes a lot more sense. Most of us can't even listen to one let alone 23 million.

We are making some good progress with two of our investigators. One is Italian and speaks Portuguese and Italian and the other is Brazilian and speaks Portuguese. We have been using Portuguese speaking members to translate for us and it has been going well. Saturday a member invited us and our ami over for dinner and a lesson. We taught him by using the member as a translator. I have sat in on so many Portuguese lessons that I don't even need the member to translate what the investigator said half the time. It's crazy how much all the Latin based language are alike.

We should be fixing some baptism dates soon so that will be good.

This will for sure be my last week in Lux. I am looking forward to a change of scenery but it will be crazy to leave after being here so long.

Hope you all have a great week. I am so excited to hear about Brady's mission call!

February 4, 2013

Hey Everyone,

This week was a pretty good week. It started off pretty slow but picked up towards the end.
Tuesday we had a pretty awesome miracle. A guy that just moved to Luxembourg from Italy came to the church and told us that his wife is a member and that he wants to be sealed with her in the temple. We have started teaching him, he is really humble and accepting and this week we are going to invite him to be baptized.

We are also teaching another guy from Brazil who just moved here to get married to one of the members in the ward. He is very accepting and has been doing a great job at keeping his commitments. They are working on their marriage papers, we gave them a goal to be married by the end of the month so as soon as he is married he will be baptized. It has been fun to teach him because we have been forced to work with the members as our translators, which has helped us to get to know the members more.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. ------- got baptized. He is the youngest son of the family that we have been working really hard with to reactivate. His Dad was able to baptize him and right after a bunch of men in the ward and us were asked to join in on the circle for the giving of the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is cool that even though he is not counted as our baptism that we were able to help the ward reactivate this family.

I can't believe it is already February. Time is going by so fast and I am positive I will get transferred in two weeks so that will just make things go by even faster.

Hope you all are doing great.

January 28, 2013

Hey Everyone!

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes. I had a really good birthday. We went to a members house and we had burritos and cheesecake so it was pretty much the best dinner appointment ever. I also had another member in the ward give me some A&W root beer and Reese's peanut butter cups which are super hard to get here so that was awesome.

This last week was pretty good. We went down to Nancy last Tuesday for Zone conference and interviews with president. It was nice to see President and Sister Poznanski. It's crazy how rarely it is that we actually get to talk to them and it is even more crazy how much they remember about us.

This week we worked hard! We found a couple new investigators and we were able to fix a baptism date with one of them. The work is picking up finally here and with having a Spanish companion we are able to find a lot more investigators.

This week we have a really busy week planned out which should be great. Hope you all are doing great.

January 21, 2013

Hey Everyone!

This week has been crazier than normal but it ended up being a pretty good week. We spent most of Monday and Tuesday seeing everybody before Elder -------- left. Wednesday he has a train at 8:00am and my comp was supposed to arrive at 11:40. We had everything planned for one of the missionaries in our district to come up and spend the day with me in Luxembourg while his comp and my comp went to Paris for transfers. Well that morning we got a call at 7:45 and the missionary told us he was going to Paris (for no reason). It was a pretty interesting morning, luckily I had a member from the ward come to my rescue and I spent a few hours with him before Elder ------ arrived. The whole time I was thinking "you could totally go to a movie right now!" but hey you have to love that conscience that keeps you choosing the right haha.

After Elder ----- arrived we got to work right away. We had a slow week lesson-wise but have been super busy. Thursday we were in Paris for a Leadership training and then Friday we spent most of the day planning for the transfer and the baptism that happened yesterday.
Saturday the Zone leaders came up to Luxembourg and did the interview for ------'s baptism. Everything went super well.

Sunday was a pretty sweet day. We had church, a small break, and then had the baptism program for ------. After the talks we drove down to a recreation center and had the baptism in the pool. Luxembourg does not have a baptismal font so they have to do all the baptism in a pool which is pretty awful, but hey it works.

--------  was pretty excited, the Spirit was there and it ended up being great. He told us that he felt like a weight was lifted off of him. It was an awesome experience.

Today we are just chilling for p-day and then tomorrow we have interviews with president in Nancy so this week is going to fly by. Saturday we have a dinner appointment where we are going to have cheesecake, I am so excited.
We also found out that this transfer is getting cut down to 5 weeks instead of six so time is going by so fast.

Hey Everyone,

This week went really well. We found a couple of new investigators and we were able to fix two baptism dates. I feel like all the hard work that we have down is finally starting to pay off and we are starting to find some new people to teach.

This weekend we found about about transfers. I am staying in Luxembourg for another 5 weeks at the least and will be with a new companion. He is American and was called to speak French and Spanish. Hopefully I will learn some Spanish during our transfer. I know him speaking Spanish will help the work progress a little faster here so I am excited for that.

This Sunday we have a baptism for our ami named -------. He is from Bénin, Africa. We see him everyday and he is awesome. Last night we went to a members house with him and had dinner. It was great for him to meet the members and they had chips and salsa which i have not had forever so it was great. We are super excited for that. Then we have a date for next week for a 9 year old boy whose family was less active but has recently been reactivated. So it's gonna be a pretty crazy week.

By the way, I accomplished a life goal this week! We took a shopping cart home from the store about 6 blocks away. I don't know why I have always wanted to do that but anyways, it is currently in our bathroom and is being used as a laundry basket until we return it.
Life goal accomplished.

Well that's about it for this week.

Une semaine des miracles!

Hey Everyone!

This week was pretty crazy we had a lot of miracles happen and so it was a great week.
About 4 months ago I contacted a lady on the road who gave us her number. We had been trying to fix an appointment with her but we could never find a time that worked. Finally this week we were able to see her and it was an awesome rendezvous. She was so excited to read the Book of Mormon and is really someone who has been prepared to accept the gospel. We are gonna go back and see her this week and I am excited to see how she likes the Book of Mormon.

Friday I went to Nancy for an exchange with the Zone leaders. It was nice to get out of Luxembourg for a day and to work with a missionary that I didn't really know. It was a lot of fun and we were able to get some new contacts. We also met a Muslim guy who is going to go buy us Korans. I am super excited for that, I think he was trying to convert us but I am okay with it because I will get a free Koran. We are also going to go give him a Book of Mormon so that will be good. After talking with him I thought a lot about the fact that every religion has bits of the truth. What I realized the most though was how much ours really makes sense.

Sunday was a crazy day. We had so many miracles. We were at church and a less active that we have been working with a lot came up to us and told us that his son wants to be baptized and so we are going over there tomorrow to teach his son and prepare him for baptism.

Then the bishop pulled us into his office and there was an old investigator who showed up out of nowhere who wants to be baptized. He couldn't before because of his family but now is able to and is pretty much ready. We met with him today and set up a baptism date for this weekend which is super fast but he is ready and the ward already knows him so its definitely a miracle.

After all that we were pretty blown away and then it just got even better. A member came and told us that while he was at the church a few days before that a man walked into the building and started asking him how he could find the missionaries. The member took his number to give to us and gave him a Book of Mormon.

It is crazy that after a transfer that has been pretty dead that we have three crazy things happen. It really got us excited and I am really looking forward to this week it is going to be great.
Transfers are this Saturday  and I have no idea what's going to happen. Normally I can feel whether I am staying or going but this time I have no idea. I guess we will see how it goes. One thing is sure and that is that me or my comp is leaving, which is good. three months is too long with the same person no matter how wonderful they are. I don't get how all you crazy married people do it haha!!

Well hope you all have a great week.
